Remote Work

HOUSING

Working with Northern Territory Government, Regional Councils, and Land Councils across the Northern Territory for subdivisions, infill, and individual house sites. Provision of site classification in accordance with AS2870, along with bearing capacity, house pad certification, and Long Term Acceptance Rate (LTAR) information for the design of foundations and septic systems as well as the provision of Earthworks and contract advice for tendering purposes. Construction certification of building pads.

ROADS

Geotechnical investigations for the upgrade of unsealed roads in communities and highways linking remote communities.

As well as the identification of new construction material sources for Regional Councils and civil earthworks contractors.

The acquisition of a Light Falling Weight Deflectometer (LWD) has enabled us to provide in-situ California Bearing Ratio (CBR) data to Councils to provide instantaneous and accurate CBR data for pavement design on low-traffic volume roads.

REMOTE COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE

WANT Geotechnics can also undertake ground investigations in remote locations for Community Stores, Swimming Pools, Basketball Courts, Shade Structures, Cultural Centres, and infrastructure for essential services.

We can provide an effective interface between the Client and Traditional Owners by liaising and presenting our work methodology and how we can undertake investigations with minimal ground disturbance.

OFF THE BEATEN TRACK

Since starting in 2014 we have undertaken work for all Regional Councils and Land Councils across the entire Northern Territory including most inhabited (and some uninhabited) islands, as well as Wyndham, Exmouth, Halls Creek, Kununurra and southwest Western Australia. More recently we have been working in Timor Leste at the Hera Naval Base involved in a geotechnical drilling investigation.
